The early hydraulic press made at NKMZ was the world's largest 750 MN
stamping press. The workers and technicians from NKMZ resolved the problem
of manufacturing the hydraulic press with success. In 1960, the first unique
press of 250,000 tons in tital weight was commissioned and in 1962 the other
press of the same application was built. These presses are still unsurpassed
as for their process forces being developed in operation. Sometimes among the total range of forgings pressed on hydraulic presses a large group of pieces is singled out which require large forces to be applied with the relatively short press strokes being necessary during operation. NKMZ's employees in collaboration with the employees of VNIImetmash created special-purpose, high-capacity presses of small-size with the force 150 MN and 300 MN. Such presses have smaller sizes weights, need less maintenance costs and feature greater rigidity compared to the universal machines thus providing better accuracy of forgings and higher efficiency of the pressing equipment. Later on, based on the experience accumulated before, small-sized 50 and 100 MN hydraulic stamping presses were constructed at NKMZ. Consequently, 100 MN presses were designed fitted with the forging manipulators, changeable tool feed manipulators, automatic control system, etc. Recently, NKMZ implemented a few technologies used in production of building materials and during cold stamping for which the new machinery would be manufactured, Hydraulic pressing plants for production of lime-and-sand bricks, ship wood boards, etc. are being manufactured now. |
