The "cold war" put "NKMZ" in the ranks of the enterprises which worked to meet
the needs of the Soviet military and defence complex. "NKMZ" became the sole
and the leading plant in the USSR which was engaged in the development and
manufacture of the launching facilities for the war and space rocket complexes.
Over the period of 40 years "NKMZ" has designed about 150 types of various
machines and units to the orderds of the space and defence departments which
had no analogues both in the USSR and in the world. These machines satisfied
the needs of the country in the equipment for all space programs from the first
man-made satellite of the Earth up to "Zenit" rocket complex as well as the
needs of the strategic missile, anti-missile and anti-aircraft troops. In 1992, as the result of disintegration of the USSR and breaking established economic ties, "NKMZ" stopped production of the defence and rocket and space equipment. In the shortest time "NKMZ" carried out diversification of the production programs. |
