Over the span of half a century NKMZ is the largest supplier of the high-duty
mine winders which are in use at 70% of mines in the CIS.
At present NKMZ is capable for producing complete sets of equipment for the
mine shafts and for supplying the coal mining complexes comprising the
high-tech and reliable machines of a new generation. These are: universal
and high-duty readers, ripper-loaders of various types, loaders and rock
drill-loaders, narrow-cut cutter-loaders, scraper-type mobile conveyors,
belt conveyors and coal-cutter-conveyors and crushers of various sizes.
Heading machines made at NKMZ are successfully operated under heavy
conditions of the workings in Donbass region, Russia and Kazahstan.
They are distinguished with the Platinum "All-Russian Mark".
A tendency to cut down the number of mines and concurrently to raise
the coal output at the expence of a full-scale implementation of the efficient
and reliable heading, coal-cutting and conveying machinery is typical
for the advanced coal-mining countries.
The goal of renovating the coal industry in Ukraine is to establish a
profit-gaining coal-producing sector based on the promising and
steadily-operating mines. The major condition for raising efficiency in coal
mining is to concentrate mining operatins at each individual mine as much
as possible through the use of the high-duty full-powered facilities that
can provide the breakage face coal output within 1 or 2 mln. tons/year.
It is necessary to implement an advanced "face-mine" technology at the
already operating and newly-built mines. This technology provides cutting
coal only in one fully-powered face with no any standby face area and spare
coal-cutting machinery set being kept at the mine till the running mining
complex service life completely comes to an end.
To better the situation in the coal-mining sector, the Ministry of Coal-Mining of Ukraine adopted a "Program of Reforms" in which Novokramatorsky Mashinostroitelny Zavod Jt.St.Co. was assigned as the key producer of a range of the high-tech mining machinery.
