OMNIMAT
A CNC “CORTINA DP” (Czech Republic) portal plasma cutting machine provides cutting of thicknesses 5 to 70 mm, with an accuracy of cutting being ± 0,5 mm and plate sizes cut being 2500 x 6000 mm.

MECHANIZED GAS – SHIELDED ELECTRIC-ARC WELDING

This kind of welding includes CO2 -shielded welding, argon or helium welding or gas mixture- shielded welding.
The main welding facilities comprise the highly efficient welding units made by Messer and EWM (both of Germany) and fitted with the microprocessor – based inverter supplies. The key advantage of these units is that they provide a lot of possibilities of the welding control at all of its stages including metal transfer, metal motion in a weld bath, weld crystallization and degassing, formation of the required weld shape and surface quality.

ORBITAL WELDING OF PIPELINES

To provide precision welding of pipelines, an orbital welding unit made by POLYSOUDE (France) is used. It enables to carry out automatic welding of the non - rotatable welds with the non-consumable electrodes with the filling wire being used or not. A pulsed arc welding or welding with the transverse oscillations of electrodes may be applied. Microprocessor-based control provides a lot of possibilities for programming a welding cycle and for documenting the process parometers.

ELECTROSLAG WELDING
NKMZ was the leader and remains the same in mastering and application of electroslag welding practice that allows a fabrication of parts weighing up to 300t of high-quality properly forged blanks. The mechanical properties of the welds are as good as the same of the base metal. If required, the elements of higher strength steel are welded into the most stressed elements of the structure. The techniques and procedures and equipment for electroslag welding make it possible to weld the parts with the section of 5000x6000 mm.
