Roller quenching machine (ΠΗΜ) is a unit of quench hardening and is designed for plates dual quenching by means of water after heat treating them in an end-charged end-discharged roller furnace.

Plates quenching in the roller quenching machine provides:

- forming of martensitic and martensitic-bainitic structures at an average rate of cooling of 5-120°C/sec. and sheets or plates temperature at the output of the roller quenching machine of not higher than 50-70°C; - uniformity of mechanical properties of the quenched sheet in the surface area of the sheet within a variation of yielding values range comprising of ± 15 MPA (1.5 kg/mm?); - exactness of mechanical properties gaining for a sheets lot comprising of ± 20 MPA (2.0 kg/mm?); - high flatness of the quenched sheets or plates according to the international standards.
